Sachin Tendulkar Biography

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on 24 April 1973 in a Marathi family in Rajapur Bombay. His father’s’ name was Ramesh Tendulkar who was a writer and professor and his mother’s’ name was Rajni Tendulkar who work’s in an insurance company.

Sachin was the son of 2nd wife of Ramesh Tendulkar from 1st wife Ramesh has 3 kids named Ajit, Nitin, and Savita which are elder than Tendulkar. He was named by his father in the name of famous singer Sachin Deo Burman.

Sachin has an interest in cricket since childhood but he is counted among mischief ones because of which he used to had often fought with school kids. In order to control the mischievous of Sachin, his brother Ajit decided to join Sachin the Cricket Academy in 1984 and took him to Ramakant Acharekar.

At that time Ramakant Acharekar was counted among famous coaches. But Sachin did perform well at the first chance before him and Acharekar refused to teach him cricket. But on request of his brother Ajit Acharekar once again watch Sachin’s match but this time he was watching Sachin from behind a tree.

Then Sachin played a wonderful match from which he understands that Sachin was hesitating in before him. And then he took Sachin in his academy and start teaching to him.

Later in time, Acharekar has a problem with the way he is holding the bat because Sachin holds bat from the very bottom and according to Acacherekar it is not possible to hit good strokes by holding the bat in this way that’s why he advised Sachin to hold bat little bit high.

But Sachin was not feeling comfortable from this change that’s why he requested Acherekar to keep him holding the bat with a lower position. Actually, in childhood, he used to play from his elder brother’s bat so he has a problem with his small hands holding the bat and to manage that bat he holds bat from a lower position, and from there he had the habit of holding the bat in this position.

Acherekar was very impressed with the talent of Sachin and that’s why he asked him to move to Shradhha Ashram Vidya Mandir for studies because there was a very good team of cricket there and he saw if he got a good environment than he can do anything.

Tendulkar on coach’s saying took admission in that school and start playing cricket with a professional team. There he with studies used to play cricket in Sivaji Park in the morning and evening under the guidance of Acharekar.

While teaching to Sachin Acharekar used to put a coin on stumps and asked other players to bowl Sachin, the player who outs Sachin will get the coin and if no one can out him than Sachin will get the coin, even today he has 13 those coins which he treated as the biggest prize. By practice and hard words, Sachin’s game got improved very soon and he became a topic of discussion among people.

Along playing matches with the school team he began to play from famous clubs of Bombay. At starting he was fond of bowling due to which to learn bowling he went to MRF Pace Foundation of Madras at the age of 14 where Australia’s fast bowler Denis Lilly gives training but give advice of batting to Sachin because he was performing good in batting and Sachin agreed to his advice and start more focusing on his batting.

Sorav Ganguly was one of player who was refused by Denis to learn fast bowling. Sachin was selected to play in Ranji Trophy in domestic first-class cricket as a replacement fielder. But after one year, Sachin debuted in cricket-playing from Mumbai against Gujrat.

He was selected in the Indian National Cricket team in 1989 at the age of 16 years as a test debut. Once he picked up the pace than he never looked back and broke all the cricket records. Sachin is the only cricketer who has a record of scoring 100 centuries in international cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar was the first player to score a double century. And he has played the highest one-day international matches. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1999 and Padma Vibhushan in 2000. On 23 December 2012, he announced his retirement from one-day international, and then on 16 November 2013, he played his last test match at his home ground at Wankhede Stadium.
