In north India watermelon are grown usually in February to July-august. In this time period temperature is always above 20°c which is very good temperature for Watermelons. 

Farmers grow their seeds in ending of February or in starting of March. After 1 week the seeds were germinate and farmers give water to this small vines once in a week. 

For big farm watering in a week is okay. But if you grow in garden or in pot you can also give water to them daily. 

In north India these are the states where these fruits are grown regularly – Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, etc. 

Also everyone in these States grow watermelon on same time because temperature is almost equal in every State in summer. 


In middle india these watermelon may arrive soon because of more hot. Also they are near to southern India where these fruits were grow whole year 

States like – Orissa, Gujrat, MP, Maharashtra etc. Have almost same climate like north India and there also watermelon grow in only summer. 

But there people can still enjoy watermelons whole year, and southern parts send them. 


Unlikely most India, In these case Southern parts of India have benefits. Almost whole year the temperature became same and farmers can grow Watermelons whole year. 

In this Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu,etc. State comes. Their temperature is same almost whole year because this States are near sea and equator. Which makes them also for destination places.

Yes, if you go to market you find their watermelon even in winters. So, the only difference is the price of this fruits. The shopkeeper may charge you high than regular because he/she needs to maintain this fruits until you buy them.
