Sometimes your body doesn’t make enough or doesn’t use insulin well. Glucose is then not absorbed in the cells of your body and remains in your bloodstream. Insomnia can cause your body to resist insulin leading to a rise in blood sugar levels in your body.

Different types of Diabetes?

There are three most common types of Diabetes:

Type 2 Diabetes

This is the most common type of diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, your body’s cells are not able to respond to insulin in a way they normally should.

In later stages of the disease, if ignored and not proper steps are taken for reducing it your body may also not produce enough insulin.

However, it is most often observed in middle-aged and older people. Type 2 is the most common type found in most people all over the world.

Gestational Diabetes

Gestational Diabetes develops in some women at the time of pregnancy. Most of the time, it is observed to go away after the baby is born.

However, if you’ve had gestational diabetes, you have a greater chance of developing type 2 diabetes later in life, if you are not conscious about your health and ignore healthy habits and adopt an unhealthy lifestyle.

This type usually develops between the 24th and 28th weeks of pregnancy. According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, it’s estimated to occur in 2 to 10 percent of pregnancies in the United States.

The most common reason for this in women is being overweight or obese. Being overweight or obese at the time of pregnancy is the main cause of this.
