Dubai is the state of United Arab Emirates.

United Arab Emirates becomes of seven states such as Abu Dhabi (capital city), Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras-al Khaimah.

Even lot of peoples think that Dubai is a capital of UAE but it’s not true. The capital of UAE is Abu Dhabi and Dubai consider as a commercial hub of UAE. 

It’s a part of United Arab Emirates situated on the Persian Gulf that is border with Sharjah (northeast), Abu Dhabi(south) and Oman(southeast).

This emirate is fully surrounded by desert. 

Dubai is aiming to become one of the Major Business hub of Asia’s western region. People are more likely to do business here because of its transparency with government and businesses, safety, tax-free etc. 

So, I think these are enough reason to attract business people.

Dubai has made his mark to the world. when you think about Dubai it comes an image of many skyscrapers, beaches, luxury hotels and resorts, ports in desert.  

According to Mastercard’s global destination’s cities index Dubai is fourth most visited city (15.8 million) in 2017. Now Dubai has known as one of the top tourist’s destination in the world.

Dubai culture and heritage sites

Dubai’s culture becomes of Islamic tradition. UAE government follows Muslim and sharia law and it is totally different from western culture.  

Emirati peoples are very protective and concern about Islamic culture and traditions. So, it is very important to remember that when you visit Dubai you must respect their culture and traditional values. 

Emirati wear dress according Islamic beliefs.  

Therefore men wear kandura which is long white shirt dress with Gathra (white headdress) and Agal (a black rope worn to keep the ghutra in place).

Emirati women wear an Abaya which is loose fitting blank cloak. it is worn on top of the cloth. 

Normally tourists are also advised to dress mannerly when visiting the mosques, heritage sites of Dubai. morever, there is no restrictions on clothing. visitor can wear what they wish what they want when tourists are in hotels, bar or club. 

Alcohol is not prohibited in some designated hotels, bar, club in Dubai. as of now the residents have to take the license by Dubai municipality to drink in them own homes.

Religion

Dubai is home of many nationalities people. most of them are Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshi etc.

You will be amazed when you heard that Emiratis are only 8% of total population. 

Dubai is an Islamic emirate and is surrounded by many mosques.

firstly most religious month is Ramadan which plays major role in Dubai. During Ramadan, all places of eating and bars closed.  

It becomes very hard to buy foods somewhere. At public places eating food and drinking, smoking is not allowed during Ramadan. 

believers are doing iftaar at mosque in holy month of ramdan.

In the holy month of Ramadan, you will notice in every mosque, that full-filled with the worshippers in a queue for iftar (time for break the day of fasting)

On the other hand those who are looking for experience or creating lifelong memory during this Ramadan in Dubai then we all welcome to you- 

In others word, it is totally depending on you that during Ramadan you want to travel or not.

In case you don’t find it difficult to not eat outside during Ramadan then it is not big deal for you.

Camel racing, falconry, heritage & equestrian sports are favorite of Emiratis.

Weather 

The climate of Dubai is sub-tropical desert with mild and very pleasantly warm winters and hot summers.  

In fact, in summer time temperature and humidity make the heat really high. Dubai is situated to Persian Gulf.  

So usually in summer the wind comes from sea and it brings more moisture from Persian Gulf.

Al-Fahidi fort/ Dubai Museum

It is also known as Dubai museum. This was built in 1787. It is located near to the creek. Before It was the residence of ruler.

Apart from this it was made to protect the community and used as Defensive fort. In modern time it comes in one of the most popular museums.

I recommend this place to tourists because tourist can come here and know about Dubai evolution that How people were survived and faced challenges. 

Al bastakiya

It was the part of residential building in 19th century. These building are being made up by mud, gypsum, coral, palm wood etc.  

It is located in bur Dubai alongside with creek and now it is known as the most Popular part of historical sites. 

Basically, it is home of the gallery and museum. Likelywise, al bastakiya is very rich in architectural structures such as Burj eel, column and wooden ornaments.  

Burjeel Is also known as the wind tower which were used to help residents handle the high temperature.

Dubai creek

Dubai creek was the iconic waterways for Dubai. In 1902 HH Sheikh Maktoum bin hasher- the ruler of Dubai stopped “the all custom duties on the imports” then Dubai creek became the major trading hub Center.  

Pearling was the main backbone of economy in that time. More than 3000 ships were being used by trade and departed in May and returning till September. Meanwhile pearl diver used to depend on date, fish, rice etc. 

If you go around creek you will get to see some wooden dhows standing over there. These dhows were used for fishing and built near shore of the creek. 

Dubai creek were divided into two parts- Deira and bur Dubai. And the only way to get from the one side to creek to another side was using Abra (boat ride) and doing long journey on land around waterways.

The fees of Abra is just 1 AED until now. 

Jumeirah mosque

The construction began in 1976 and opened in 1979. It is located in Jumeirah 1.  

The first thing you will see from outside that mosque largest center dome is surrounded by four small domes. Every dome is decorated with intricate stone carvings. 

Jumeirah mosque in only one mosque is that open for non-Muslim. To more know about Islamic culture and tradition you can join guided tour at mosque run by Sheikh Mohammad center for cultural understanding (SMCCU).  

it is one of the Dubai’s culture and heritage sites. Normally tour starts at 10:00 am from Saturday to Thursday also you can book ticket before 30 minutes when tour starts. This 75-minute tour will cost you 25 AED. 

This is place for worshippers. you must required to follow proper dress-code. men and women- shoulder and knee must be covered and your clothing must be loose-fitting & non-transparent.  

For the women you must cover your head by using scarf. Although if you haven’t worn proper dress. Then you can borrow traditional attire from the mosques. 

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House

It is located beside the Dubai creek on Deira side. (built in 1896) it was the official residence of ruler family for over 60 years.  

It is the unique way to explore how they lived or survive. The one thing will be surprised you that it was simple house for royal family to live in. 

As of now this has been transformed into museum that contains ancient pictures, coins, official documents or stamps etc.  

You can find this house in al shindagha district near al Ghubaiba metro station. This ticket will cost 3 AED for adult and 1 AED for kid.

Now we have got about the tourism how it was bloomed in Dubai. Dubai has proved to the world that how a small city with some limited natural attraction can become an international tourism center in the world.
