JOIN AS SSR AND AA IN INDIAN NAVY AFTER 10+2 SCIENCE

INDIAN NAVY , the safeguard of Indian oceans encourages Indian youth to serve the nation by joining this force . NAVY invites Unmarried Male to join as SAILORS for SENIOR SECONDARY RECRUITS AND ARTIFICER APPRENTICE also known as SSR AND AA .

INDIAN NAVY recruits SAILORS (SSR AND AA) twice in a year i.e in the month of Dec / Jan and June / July .

The recruiting month is subjected to change as per Navy recruitement of SSR AND AA .

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SSR AND AA

Age

The age should be between 17 to 20 years .

Height

Candidate must have Min. height of 157 cms .

Educational Qualifications For SSR AND AA

EDUCATIONAL-QUALIFICATION-FOR-SSR-AND-AA

 AA

Must have passed 12th Science with min. 60 % of marks in aggregate from a recognized board .

Must have Maths & Physics in 12th Science .

Also have at least one of these subjects :- Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science .

SSR

Must have passed in 12th Science from a recognized board .

Must have Maths & Physics in 12th Science .

Also have at least one of these subjects: – Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science .

PATTERN OF EXAMINATION(SSR AND AA)

One common exam will be conducted for both SSR and AA entries .

It is a objective type computer-based exam with a total of 100 questions .

Each question carries  01 mark .

The question paper will be Hindi & English .

It comprises of four sections .

  • English
  • Science
  • Math
  • General Knowledge

The time duration of exam is 1 hour .

The candidates are required to pass in all the sections in aggregate.

You should note that there is a Penalty for Wrong Answer.

For each wrong answer , one fourth (0.25) of the marks will be deducted as penalty .

HOW TO APPLY FOR SSR AND AA EXAM

Interested candidates can apply online through the official Navy website .

Candidates need to register himself first on the Official Website with a valid e-mail ID.

The Applicants must ensure that they are providing a valid and active e-mail ID and mobile numbers.

It should not be changed till joining .

Before submit of application , Candidate should make sure that all the details provided by him are true & correct .

Also check that all required documents are scanned in original & uploaded properly .

Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 215/- (Rupees Two hundred fifteen only)  .

Payment will be done through online mode through net banking or by using Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI .

SC / ST candidates are not required to pay the fees .

All the original documents uploaded by the candidates must be brought by the candidates at all stages of recruitment  .

The photograph uploaded  should be of good quality with blue background.

CALL UP LETTERS CUM ADMIT CARD

Candidate must download Call up Letters cum Admit Card for online exam .

It can be downloaded from the official website .

Admit card is available approx. one week before online exam.

The date, time and centre of exam are mentioned in the Call up Letters cum Admit Card .

Date, Time and Exam centre can not be changed once given by the Indian Navy .

SELECTION PROCESS OF SSR AND AA

Declaration Of  Result

The Results of the online exam will be announced mostly after 30 days.

Selected candidates will be called for Physical fitness test (PFT) and Preliminary Recruitment Medical Test .

The qualifying cut off marks may vary from State to State for SSR entry.

Note:-

The Navy reserves the right to fix the pass marks in each Section and also for aggregate .

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

The Physical fitness test (PFT) are of following for SSR and AA :-

  • 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes .
  • 20 squats ( Uthak Baithak ) .
  • 10 Push-ups .

Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test ( PFT ) is mandatory for selection .

Candidates also note that they will do PFT at their own risk .

Preliminary Medical Test

PFT qualified Candidates will undergo Preliminary medical test .

The Medical test will be conducted by military doctors .

Medical process will be done as per the medical standard current applicable to sailor’s entry.

Candidates declared Temporary Medically Unfit can avail specialist review from the specified Military Hospital .

Review should be done within a maximum period of 21 days.

The qualified candidates in Preliminary Medical Test will only be considered for preparation of merit list.

Note:-

Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax, and tartar removed from teeth prior to medical test .

Merit List

The Selection of candidates in merit list is based on Performance in Computer based Test, Subject to qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Fitness in Medical Test.

The merit list for AA is all INDIA level where as merit list for SSR is State wise .

The merit list will be available on Navy website .

All selected candidates will be called to INS Chilka for Final Enrollment Medical Test .

Note:-

Candidates need to submit Police Verification form and other associated forms along with the Call letter at INS Chilka .

Those failed to show documents will not be allowed for further process .

Final Enrollment Medical Examination

Final Enrolment Medical Exam of all selected candidates will be held at INS Chilka .

Medically fit candidates in Final Medical Test will be enrolled for training at INS Chilka ( ODISHA ) .

TRAINING OF SSR AND AA

NAVY-TRAINNG

The Basic training for AA is of 09 weeks and for SSR is 22 weeks .

At end of basic training , all trainees are given their Branch / Trade as per the requirement of Service .

After basic training at INS Chilka , Cadets will go for Professional training in the given Branch / Trade in various Naval Training Centers .

INITIAL ENGAGEMENT

After successful in all training , Cadets of AA will get initial engagement for a period of 20 years and Cadets of SSR for a period of 15 years.

PAY & ALLOWANCES

During training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible.

On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix.

In addition, they will be paid Military Service Pay , Dearness Allowances (as applicable) . [“X” Group pay only for Artificer Apprentice (AA)] .

Note that the amount of stipend , pay matrix & all other allowances will be increased every time on the updated pay band .

INDIAN NAVY selects his sailors under the above discussed process as Artificer Apprentice (AA) & Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR) .

1. What is the total no. of question in Navy SSR and AA exam  ?

The total no question in Navy SSR and AA exam is 100 with each of 1 mark .

2. How to qualify in written exam ?

To qualify in written exam , you must have to qualify in each sections.
There are 4 sections with 25 marks each .
The qualifying cut off marks will be fixed by Navy as per their recruitment .

3. Can we apply for Navy SSR & AA exam with 10+2 in ARTS & COMMERCE ?

NO , Only candidates with 10+2 science are eligible to apply for Navy SSR .

4. Is there any negative marking ?

Yes , A 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer .
