What is Atomic Number | Atomic number of all atoms

Basically atomic number is depends on the total no. of protons presents in the nucleus of an atom.

Atom is the world’s smallest particle that present in all over thing that we see all things that we see and use in our daily life.

Atom is the base of all things in this universe. Even air and gases also have their atoms. Hence there is nothing in this world that made without atom, It doesn’t matter it is living thing or non-living .

Atom is like a magic in science. When you goes deep in the study of atom then you take atom as a miracle of the universe because nobody can create atom nobody can destroy.

It is immortal and you can’t see it by your eyes but present in all around us,

Truly it is like a miracle. Even science can’t do complete research about atom today, It is mystery to do complete study today for modern science.

Solar system structure of atom

Planatery model of atom

Atom is hollow from inside but at the center of atom ,

There is a round like shape which is called nucleus.

And in that hollow space electron revolve around the nucleus. It is like a micro solar system as in solar system,

All planets revolves around the same as here electrons revolves around the nucleus.

An atom consist of three basic particles – proton, neutron and electron. The nucleus (center) of the atom contains proton and neutron which have charges respectively Positive (+) and neutral (no charge) charge.

The outermost area of atom called electronic shell which contains electron which have negative (-) charge. I told you once that inner side of atom is like as a solar system,

Same as electronic shell are the orbit where electron revolves around the nucleus in a fixed portion.

Things that you are going to know in this article –

  1. What is atomic number ?
  2. Atomic number in modern periodic table
  3. Role of electrons and protons in atomic number
  4. Conclusion
  5. FAQ

What is Atomic number ?

Atomic number

Inside of atom basically three things are present – electron which revolves around the nucleus of the atom and carries negative (-) charge,

And nucleus present in the center of atom which has positive charge,

Inside of nucleus it consist two things proton which carries positive charge (+) and neutron which carries no charge (0) and remain part of the atom is hollow.

Atomic number is mostly depend on the nucleus of the atom. Basically the it is the total number of proton present in the nucleus of the atom is known as it.

It is depend on how many protons present in the nucleus of the atom. Like as an element oxygen (O) has number of atoms 8 it means there are 8 protons present in the nucleus of the atom of oxygen.

The atomic number or proton number of a chemical element is the number of protons that found in the nucleus of every atom of that element.

It is uniquely identifies a chemical element. It is identical to charged number of the nucleus. In an uncharged atom, means it is also equal to the number of electrons.

Each number has a it’s specific set of the chemical properties as a consequences of the number of electrons present in the stable atom, which is the atomic number.

It is the only thing that determines the chemical properties of an element and it is for the reason that

An element can be defined as consisting of any type of mixture of atoms with a given atomic number.

Atomic number in modern periodic table

After the discovery of modern periodic table it become more popular because the modern periodic table is completely based on the atomic number of any atom or element.

All atom are completely arranged systematic on the basis of number of atoms. It is easy to learn atomic number of an atom as compared to atomic mass.

The best way to find it of any element is that how many protons present in the nucleus of an atom,

It is easy to remember and find as compare to atomic weight.

Atomic number of hydrogen (H) is 1 it means only one proton is present in the nucleus of the atom of hydrogen,

Atomic number of carbon (C) is 6 it also mean that only 6 protons present in the center or nucleus of the atom of carbon same as all 118 elements that,

Presents in modern periodic table has their different atomic number.

The number of protons is always equal to the number of electrons present in an stable or neutral atom,

It means the total number of electron present in the atom is also known as it’s atomic number.

That’s why it is also known as proton number or electron number. Protons and electrons have some different properties.

Electrons are tiny small particles which carries negative charge (-) while protons are much larger and heavier than electrons and carries positive charge (+).

Role of electrons and protons in atomic number and modern periodic table

Elements are in the modern periodic table arranged according to the it. So that it is very important.

The higher atomic number and the greater number of protons in the nucleus are present,

This means that more neutrons are required to “bind” the nucleus of atom together.

Every element has a unique atomic number and a unique element symbol like as oxygen has atomic no. 8 and it’s symbol is “O”.

The same atomic number for each element is used all over the world and instantly recognized by the scientists and chemist of all over the world.

It is imperative for the chemist students to be able to recognize the names of elements form their atomic number.

Conclusion

There is a deep relation present between the atomic number and the modern periodic table because both depend on each other study about them.

If you just learn the periodic table sequence wise then

You can easily orally speak complete atomic number of all 118 elements or atoms.

The amazing thing about it is that is it depend on how many protons or electrons present in the atom,

But electron and protons has many differences on the basis of size,

Shape and charge but they are present in almost in same number inside an stable atom.

Truly it is easy to learn thing for all people. It does not mean a people is scientist or is a normal student of science.

FAQ

How to find atomic number ?

you can find atomic number of any element with the help of modern periodic table.

What things made atomic number ?

Basically it is fully depend on the nucleus of an atom it is the total number of proton present in the nucleus of the atom is known as atomic number.

Why modern periodic table is depend on atomic number ?

Modern periodic table is depends on the atomic number because it is so simple and easy to put all types of elements in the table and it is easy to learn and understand.
