 What is M.Sc. (Master of Science)?

This is a postgraduate degree course related to a science stream which after completing it, you can work as a scientist in a research center.

 M.Sc.  The full name of this is the master of science. This is a post-graduation course. This course is of 2 years.

 You can do this course after you graduate from the science stream.

 Eligibility

 As you know, this is a post-graduation degree course in which you can work as a scientist after completing it with all hard work and diligence.  So, you  Must have to have some qualifications to do this course.

 To do MSc, the candidate must have the following qualifications….

  • The 12th science stream and graduation degree should also be from the science stream.
  • 12th should have at least 50 to 60% number, similarly, graduation degree should also have at least 50%.

You are doing any Bachelor course related to Science stream for graduation degree like – B.com/ BCA, B.tech, etc.

Duration

Like other post-graduation courses, this course is of 2 years duration and consists of 4 semesters.  There are also a lot of trades which include all kinds of exam, lectures and seminars.

Integrated forms are also available in M.Sc. , Like B.Sc.  

M.S.C.  An integrated form is also available in the following disciplines.

  • Integrated MSc program basic science (physics, chemistry, biology, or mathematics) is offered by NISER.
  • In this course, additional knowledge of the relevant and selected subject area is provided.

 Admission

Direct admission

If you are not able to clear the MSc entrance exam or for any other reason, you cannot take admission to MSc through the entrance exam then you can take direct admission in MSc.

Very few colleges take direct admission for the MSc course.

You can take admission by going to the college or university in which you want to take admission in that college and facing a personal interview.

But note that top colleges or universities do not accept direct admission in MSc

Entrance exam

To give admission in MSc, different entrance exams are conducted by different colleges or universities. The college in which you have to take admission

You can join the entrance exam of that college and take admission in the exam by earning good marks.

The final selection of Msn admission is made on the basis of marks obtained in Bar Graduation and Entrance Examination.

FAQs

Can MSc be done after BCom?

Commerce and science are both separate streams, so you cannot do MSc after BCom.
Although there are some courses (very less) after which you can do MSc.

Can MSc be done after BA?

Students can switch between the arts and science stream, it is very important to be a graduate to do MSc.
In some courses, you can do MSc even after doing a BA and MA.

Can MSc be done after BCA?

Yes, if you want to do MSc after doing BCA then you can apply for MSC CS / IT
Although there are many similarities between both MSC CS / IT and MCA courses
Yet there is some difference between the two.
like-
MSc is a 2-year post-graduation course and MCA is a 3-year post-graduation course but if you do MCA after doing BCA then it is only 2 years

 According to me, if you want to go into the education industry, then you should do MSc and if you want to work in an IT company, then you should do MCA

Can MSc be done after BBA?

No, you cannot do MS after doing BBA because BPA Bachelor of Business Assistant is a business stream related graduation course
To do M.Sc., you must graduate from the science stream.

Can MSc student-student do MBA?

Yes, if you want to do MBA (Master in Business Assistant) after doing M.Sc then you can because you have to graduate from any subject or stream to do MBA.
