There are some tricks of Rubik’s cube you could learn to impress your friends. These tricks don’t require you to know its solution, anyone with the algorithms can perform the tricks.

Only one requirement is that the cube should be in solved position before performing the tricks on it.

24 moves trick

One of the tricks of Rubik’s cube, that lets you solve it with 24 moves. This is done by simply repeating four moves 6 times, which brings the cube back in its original position from which you did start.

Algorithm: [ R Ui Ri U ] x 6

You can either move L instead of R, whichever you feel comfortable with.

Cube within cube

I like this pattern a lot. This will make it look like, one 2×2 cube is fitted inside the 3×3 cube.

Algorithm: F L F Ui R U F2 L2 Ui Li B Di Bi L2 U

This pattern can be brought back to its solved position by either performing the algorithm opposite to it, or performing the same algorithm twice.

Cube within Cube within Cube

This is just an advanced version of cube within cube, it gives a total of 3 cubes.

Algorithm: U’ L’ U’ F’ R2 B’ R F U B2 U B’ L U’ F U R F’

The checkerboard

This pattern is simple with all its faces with the edge pieces of colour of the opposite face.

Algorithm: M2 E2 S2

The wire

This pattern looks like the four adjacent faces of the cube have a wire tangled around in a crisscross pattern.

Unmatched Cross

All the center pieces have four different edge pieces attached to it.

Perpendicular lines

Four of the six adjacent faces have perpendicular line with colour of the opposite face.

Turned Tips

Two opposite corners of the cube are turned clockwise and anticlockwise respectively.

Plus Minus

The four adjacent faces of the cube gets plus and minus sign alternatively.

Vertical lines

This pattern gives the cube its four adjacent faces vertical lines.

Gift Box

This pattern looks like a plus sign is added to the Vertical Lines Pattern. It gives an illusion of a wrapped gift.

This gives the cube all its faces a cross pattern.

Four adjacent faces with different center pieces.

Six Spots

All the faces with different center pieces.

Two opposite faces with HHH on it.

Algorithm: M2 U2 M2 U2

6 H-Pattern

H on all the six faces of the cube.

Displaced Motif

It looks like a 3x2x2 cube is placed within a 3x3x3 cube, but only can be seen from one side.
