INDIAN NAVY conducts a national level entrance test called as Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) .Through this TEST , Unmarried Men & Women are invited to join NAVY as an Officer .
Officers will join in Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in various Regular Naval Orientation Courses (NOCs) .
The NOCs are :- Pilot , Observer , Air Traffic Controller , Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre , Logistics , Education , Information Technology , Technical ( Engineering and Electrical ) .
The course will held at Indian Naval Academy ( INA ) Ezhimala, Kerala.

Those applying for the Education entry must have scored min. of 60 % marks in class X and class XII .
Also must have min. 60 % marks in English in class X or class XII.
INET EXAM PATTERN
INET exam contains 100 Multiple Choice type questions .
The time duration of exam is two hours .
The subjects of exam are given below :-
- English
- Reasoning & Numerical Ability
- General Science
- Mathematical Aptitude
- General Knowledge.
Each section will be of 100 marks with negative marking .
There is a penalty of One mark for each incorrect answer .
INET APPLY ONLINE
Eligible candidates can fill and submit their application online on INDIAN NAVY’S official website .
Candidates will pay a fee of Rs 205/- (Rupees Two Hundred five only) through online mode.
SC/ ST/ Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees .
SELECTION PROCESS (INET)

Short-listing of Applications
All candidates, whose applications are received by due date, will be called for Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) at one of the INET centres .
The process to select INET center is as per their choice and also subjected to availability of slots at that centre.
Call up letters cum Admit Card for online exam sould be required to download from the official website .
The date, time and place of exam is mentioned in the ADMIT CARD .
Only Electronic mode of communication will be used while contacting the candidates at all stages of selection.
Short-listing for SSB
IHQ of MoD (N) reserves the right to shortlist candidates strictly on the basis of INET rank cum preference & choice .
However candidates are required to qualify in all sections of INET Exam to be considered for short-listing to appear in SSB interview.
SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be held at Bangalore for pilot & observer candidates .
For other branches entries , SSB will held at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore/ Visakhapatnam/ Kolkata .
Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS .
SSB Interview
Shortlisted candidates are required to reach in the SSB center as per the informed date .
Candidates will be put through two stage selection process – Stage I & Stage II .
Those who pass in Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in stage I will be returned on the same day.
Medical
SSB cleared candidates will go through a medical test as applicable to their entry.
Medical test is conducted by a Board of Service Medical officers .
Candidates of Pilot entry will go through PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) followed by Aviation medical test .
It is to be noted that mere qualifying at the SSB interview does not confirm final selection.
Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate at INET written exam and SSB interview .
Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training as per all India merit of each branch / cadre .
It is also based upon the availability of vacancies in different branches / cadres.

TRAINING
Candidates will engaged as officers in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant .
Officers of all branches / cadres except the officers of IT will go through a 22 Weeks Naval Orientation Course (NOC) .
Whereas officers of SSC (IT) will go for a 04 Weeks NOC at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala.
Then trainees will go through professional training in Naval Ships and Training Centers as per their branch .
Note :-
Probation period for SSC ( NAIC ) Officers is three years .
But for officers of other branches / cadres is two years.
The probation period will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lieutenant and will end after three years in respect of SSC ( NAIC ) and two years for other branches / cadres or on completion of initial training ( whichever is later ) .
During probation the officers are liable to be discharged in case of unsatisfactory performance at any stage.
Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training. Any candidate who is found to be married or marries while under training will be discharged from service .

To live a challenging Sea life with pride and dignity and wants to serve the motherland with INDIAN NAVY , One must appear INDIAN NAVY ENTRANCE TEST (INET) exam .
