INDIAN COAST GUARD recruits Male youth for the post of NAVIK GD (GENERAL DUTY) .

It recruits twice in a year commonly in the month of January & August .

ELIGIBILITY FOR NAVIK GD

Age

The age of Candidates must be between 18 to 22 years .

Upper age is relaxed for 5 years for SC/ ST and 3 years for OBC .

Height

The Min. height of Candidate must be of 157 cms .

( The height is reduced for candidates of hilly & tribal area . It will be done with respect to the central govt. orders )

Educational Qualification

Must have passed 10+2 with min. 50 % of marks in aggregate with Math & Physics as subjects from a recognized board .

PATTERN OF NAVIK GD EXAM

QUESTION-PATTERN-OF-EXAMINATION

The question paper of the written exam will be multiple choice type .

The language of question paper will be in Hindi and English .

Questions mainly cover subjects of 12th class such as :-

The time duration of exam is one hour .

The total no. of questions is 80 .

HOW TO APPLY FOR NAVIK GD EXAM

Interested candidates can apply online through the official website .

The candidates must ensure that they are providing a valid and active E-mail ID and mobile number .

This should not be changed at any stage of selection process .

The % of marks of the candidate in class 10th & 12th will be given exactly up to two decimals not rounded off .

Before submission of online application , Candidate should make sure that all the details provided by him are true & correct .

If the details provided while filling online application found wrong at any stage of selection process , the candidate will be dis-qualified .

After submission of online application , A unique Application or registration number will be provided .

Candidate must note the no. for future use .

SELECTION PROCESS OF NAVIK GD

Short-Listing Of Application

The application will be short-listed Center wise .

The short-listing of application will be based upon higher % of marks received for each exam center .

So the short-listing % fixed may vary from center to center .

Note :-

A min. 5 % is relaxed over the fixed % for short-listing will be given to SC / ST candidates .

Also 5 % is relaxed for the sports person of National level.

E -Admit Card

Candidate comes under the short-listing % fixed with respect to the exam center will be issued E-Admit card .

The Admit card can be downloaded from official website .

Candidate must bring admit card with them for exam .

The date, time and center of the written exam will be mentioned in the Admit Card .

Documents Required For Verification

The documents will be checked out before written exam to conform the eligibility .

The documents are:-

  • 3 copies of E-Admit card (Pre-filled and photo affixed) .
  • 2 Copies of Application form .
  • Original class 10th & 12th certificate and mark sheet .
  • Original Caste & Income certificate ( If Applicable ) .
  • Domicile certificate (Original) .
  • Proof Of Identity .
  • 10 recent passport size photo with Blue background .

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Qualified candidates of written exam will go for PFT .

Candidate will do PFT at their own risk .

The Physical fitness test (PFT) are of following :-

  • 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes .
  • 20 squats ( Uthak Baithak ) .
  • 10 Push-ups .

Preliminary Medical Test

Based on the result in written exam and PFT , Short-listed Candidates will go for Preliminary medical test .

The medical test will be conducted by Military Doctors .

It will be done as per the Medical Standard.

The qualified candidates in Medical Exam will only be considered for merit list .

Candidates declared fit in Preliminary Medical Exam means they are only fit with respect to the fitness for final medical test .

Candidates in merit list will have to go for final medical test at INS Chilka .

If they declared medically unfit in final medical test , they will not allow for training .

Note :-

Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax .

Must have tartar removed from teeth prior to medical exam .

Merit List

The Selection in merit list is based on the result in Written Exam , Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Exam .

It also depends upon the available vacancies .

The zone wise merit list will be available in the official website .

All selected candidates of merit list will be called to INS Chilka for Final Medical Exam .

Final Medical Exam

Final Medical Exam of all merit list candidates will be held at INS Chilka .

Medically fit Candidates in Final Medical will be enrolled for training at INS Chilka ( ODISHA ) .

TRAINING

Indian-Coast-Guard-Soldier-training-after-passed-in-NAVIK-GD-exam

The Basic training will be done at INS Chilka .

All trainees are given their Branch / Trade as per the requirement of Service and performance of the cadet during basic training .

After basic training at INS Chilka , Cadets will go through Sea training and Professional training in the given Branch / Trade .
