The exception post for this recruitment for Group X is Education Instructor Trade .
The exception for Group Y is Automobile Technician , IAF (Police) , IAF (Security) and Musician Trades .

ELIGIBILITY FOR GROUP X AND Y

Age for Group X and Y
The age of candiadtes must be between 17 to 20 years .
Height
The Min. height required is 152.5 cms .
Educational Qualification ( Group X and Y )
GROUP X (Except Education Instructor Trade )
Must have passed 12th or Equivalent in Science .
They must have Math , Physics & English .
Must have min. 50 % of marks in aggregate .
Also have 50 % of marks in English .
OR
Must have passed three years of Diploma in Engineering in any stream .
They must have min. 50 % of marks in aggregate .
Also have 50 % of marks in English in Diploma .
( 50 % Marks of English in 12th or 10th is considered if English is not a subject in Diploma ) .
GROUP Y (Except Automobile Tech. , IAF (Police) , IAF (Security) , Medical Assistant & Musician Trades )
Must have passed 12th or Equivalent in any stream .
They must have min. 50 % of marks in aggregate .
Also have 50 % of marks in English .
OR
Must have passed two years Vocational course .
They must have min 50 % of marks in aggregate .
They also have 50 % of marks in English in Vocational course .
( 50 % Marks of English in 12th or 10th is considered if English is not a subject in Vocational course ) .
GROUP Y ( Medical Assistant Trade )
Must have passed 12th or Equivalent in Science .
They must have Physics , Chemistry , Biology and English with min. 50 % of marks in aggregate .
They also have 50% of marks in English .
Note :-
Candidate eligible for both Group X and Y will be given an option of appearing in both the exam .
For appearing in both the exam , there will be only one sitting .
They will get the option while filling up the online form .

The language of question paper will be in Hindi & English except for English paper.
Each question carries 01 mark .
The candidates must qualify in each paper separately .
There is a Penalty for Wrong Answer.
For each wrong answer , one fourth (0.25) of the marks will be deducted as penalty.

HOW TO APPLY FOR GROUP X AND Y
Interested candidates for Group X and Y can apply online through official website .
Before submit , Candidate should make sure that all the details given by him are true & correct .
They must check that all documents are scanned in original & uploaded properly .
They are required to pay a fee of Rs. 250/- in online mode through net banking or by using Credit/ Debit Card or UPI .
They can also pay in offline mode by challan payment at any axis bank branch .
Candidates must select five choices of exam centre and three choices of Airmen Selection Centers ( ASC ) in order of preference while filling up the online form.
They are advised to note their e-mail ID and password used while online registration as the same would be used in the future .
PROVISIONAL ADMIT CARD (Phase-I)
Provisional Admit Card will be issued for the selected candidates .
It will be sent on their respected e-mail address or can be downloaded from the CASB portal by the candidate .
The candidate must take a colour print out of the Admit card which he must carry with him on the day of Phase-I online test and also carry a Valid ID proof .
The date , time & center details of online exam will be mentioned in the Admit card .
DECLARATION OF RESULT (Phase-I)
The Results of the online exam will be announced on the official website within a period of 30 days from the date of online test for both Group X and Y .
If marks scored by the candidate comes under the cut off mark fixed by CASB , he will be shortlisted for Phase-II test .

PROVISIONAL ADMIT CARD (Phase-II)
A new Admit card will be issued for the shortlisted of Phase-I which will be sent on their respected e-mail id .
It can also be downloaded from the CASB portal .
VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY
Candidate will go with a document verification before of Phase-II .
The process is to ascertain the eligibility .
Candidates must carry the following documents given below with them while reporting for Phase-II exam .
The documents are :–
- Colour print out of Admit for Phase-II .
- Colour print out of application form which is downloaded on completion of online form .
- 8 copies of unattested recent passport size photograph .
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of 10th Certificate .
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of 10th Marks Sheet . (only applicable for three years Diploma Course holders when English is not a subject in Diploma Course) .
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of 10+2 Exam Certificate and Marks Sheet .
- Original and four self-attested photocopies of three years Diploma Course Passing Certificate and Marks Sheets of all semesters . (for diploma holders only)
- Certificate for SOAFP (Son of Air Force Personnel) . ( If applicable )
PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST (PFT)
After the completion of document verification , Candidates will go for Physical fitness test (PFT) .
The Physical fitness test (PFT) consists of ( for both Group X and Y ) :-
- 1.6 Km run . (To be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds)
- 10 Sit-ups .
- 20 Squats ( Uthak Baithak ) .
- 10 Push-ups .
Candidates are advised to bring their Sports shoes & shorts / track pants .
Note :-
Candidates will do Physical Fitness Test ( PFT ) at their own risk .

ADAPTABILITY TEST-1
Selected candidates in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will be followed by Adaptability Test-1 .
It is a multiple type written test for both Group X and Y trades .
The aim of the test is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF .
The test involves deployment in varied geographic terrain , weather and operational conditions .
ADAPTABILITY TEST-2
Test-2 is conducted for those who qualifies in Test-1 .
The test is also for both Group X and Y trades .
Through this test , the aim is to select those who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force .
Also to check candidares are able to adjust to the military way of life .
MEDICAL TEST
Passed Candidates in Test-2 will be issued Medical Appointment Letter at respective ASCs .
The letter can also be downloaded from CASB website .
One must reach at Medical Boarding Centre (MBC) on the specific date .
The date is mentioned in the medical appointment letter .
The Medical exam will be conducted by a team of Air Force doctors .
Medical will be conducted as per the IAF medical standards .
Note :-
Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned .
Also tartar removed from teeth prior to medical exam .
ENROLLMENT LIST
The Selection in enrollment list is based on the result in All the Tests and Exams .
Those in the enrollment list will get a separate call letters to join training .
TRAINING

Candidates will go through a Joint Basic Phase Training ( JBDT ) .
After JBDT, All trainees are given their Branch / Trade as per the requirement of Service .
Given trade shall not be changed on trainee’s request on any grounds .
After basic training , trainees will go through trade training with respect to their trades .
The trade training shall include security training or any other training as per service requirements .
INITIAL ENGAGEMENT
After all training, The AIRMEN will be appointed on jobs as per their allotted trades.
Initial Enrolment of an AIRMEN is for a period of 20 years which can be extended .
PAY & ALLOWANCES
During training period, a stipend of Rs 14,600/- per month will be given.
But after completion of training, Rs 33,100/- per month with Dearness Allowances (DA) as applicable) & other allowances for Group “X” .
Similarly Rs 26,900/- per month plus DA (as applicable) & other allowances for Group “Y” .
The amount may rise as per the career progression .
Note:-
The amount of stipend , pay matrix & all other allowances will be increased every time with respect to the updated pay band .
